Questions we get a lot.

How is the training delivered?
Three ways. Live in-person at Parrot HQ in Spring Hill, FL — 1-day, 2-day, or 4-day intensive formats with hands-on iPad work. On-site at your location — we fly out and run the same curriculum at your office, with optional field ride-alongs. And our online training portal for self-paced learning with our full macro library included.
Do I need an iPad or iPhone — will Windows or Mac work?
Xactimate Mobile runs on iOS, so iPad or iPhone is required for hands-on work. iPad Pro with LiDAR (2020 or newer) is ideal for Sketch AR. If your team is on Windows desktop Xactimate today, we'll show them how the mobile workflow syncs to the same cloud so nothing breaks. Mac users — Xactimate desktop doesn't run on macOS at all, so mobile is your best path forward.
How long is a class, and how much time off-desk?
Live cohorts run 1 day (intro), 2 days (full Mobile fundamentals), or 4 days (Adjuster Bootcamp — Mobile end-to-end), 9 AM–5 PM. Most adjusters keep working real claims during and after — the goal is to get them faster in the field, not pull them out of it.
What's the class size?
We keep cohorts small enough that every student gets one-on-one screen-shared time with the instructor during sketch labs. That's the whole reason students fly to Spring Hill instead of watching a webinar somewhere else.
Why mobile-first? Most of our adjusters still write back at the hotel on a laptop.
Because that workflow is costing you cycle time and accuracy. Verisk's own data on Xactimate Mobile vs. Desktop shows mobile is 38% faster for adding line items, 58% faster for voice notes, and 99% faster for photo handling. The real unlock isn't just speed — it's writing the estimate while you're still standing in the room with the policyholder, before details get fuzzy and before supplements pile up. That's what Parrot Key trains.
How is it taught — videos, or hands-on?
Hands-on. You bring your own iPad with an active Xactimate license, and you build real estimates alongside the instructor in real time. Neil and Arman walk the room reviewing every screen. The online portal includes structured video courses for teams that need self-paced flexibility.
Can you train on our specific guidelines and build custom macros for us?
Yes — that's our highest-impact corporate engagement. We review your claim handling guidelines, scope language, and documentation requirements, then build a custom Xactimate Mobile macro pack tailored to how your team is supposed to write claims. Field-written estimates arrive already aligned to your QA rules. Reach out through the Contact tab to scope it.
Can we run a pilot before committing the whole team?
Yes — and we recommend it. Easiest entry point is enrolling 2–5 adjusters in an upcoming Spring Hill cohort or live virtual session, then measuring cycle time, supplement rate, and on-site estimate completion before vs. after. If you see the lift, we scale to the full roster.
About

Why Parrot Key.

Founded by Neil Baumann, Parrot Key trains adjusters, IA firms, and contractors to standardize Xactimate Mobile estimating across their claims operations. Our mobile-first method — backed by 145+ proprietary macros and a dedicated training facility in Spring Hill, FL — helps claims teams close cleaner files, faster.

We don't teach software for the sake of teaching software. Every class is built around the workflows working adjusters actually use, the calls that drive supplements and disputes, and the documentation that holds up under review.
